The oyster house…
She came to you,
Hidden inside the many layers of her seemingly impermeable shell.
An empty shell,
Filled only by the darkness that consumed the void within
But with patience and humility – you reached inside.
A ray of hope,
No bigger than a grain of sand –
But the seed of hope was planted
And it grew….
Irritated by the invited intrusion into her world,
She fought to outwit your wisdom
And unintentionally became the perfect host
An emerging ball of light.
More precious than its material worth.
A symbol of hope,
But so bright it blinds her
Engulfing the darkness,
Her defences are weakened –
Her shell opens
Out of the darkness came hope….
